My journey with wood began in high school. What started as a fascination with grain and geometry evolved into formal training as a Certified Architectural Technologist from Algonquin College and a career devoted to design, restoration, and structural integrity.
I worked in architectural design producing detailed working drawings for custom homes. Under architect W. E. Fancott in Ottawa, I contributed to Victorian-era commercial and residential projects. Later, as a Building Inspector with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, I developed a deep respect for what truly makes a structure endure.
Over the years, I renovated fourteen Victorian mansions, built and led a 35-person real estate organization during record interest rates, and helped families create homes across Ontario.
Through every chapter, woodworking remained my constant.
